Would you like to see your library develop and grow?
Two ways you can support your local library are by being a Library Volunteer or by joining the local Friends of the Library group. You may want to do both! Your library needs your help and you would be making a difference in the community.
Friends groups are library advocates who join together to support library events and sponsor fundraising and other activities that boost library services. Friends groups often publish newsletters and provide special programs for members. Contact your library for information on the local Friends of the Library group. Check the links here too, to see information about two of the Friends groups that now exist.
You may be able to volunteer a little of your time and talent to help provide library services. Some of the things volunteers help with in our area now are: organizing books and newspapers, helping with craft workshops and storytelling, putting up displays, and even computer training and financial workshops.
