Downtown Lincolnton, Georgia in 1918

According to reports from Mrs. Isabelle C. Pitts and Mrs. Bill Mims in the Lincoln Journal, this photograph shows a newly rebuilt downtown Lincolnton area after a fire in the fall of 1917. From the left to right, the buildings were occupied by Jack Busby’s clothing store, Walter and Willie Groves’ clothing store, Cleve Ward’s market, H. D. Bently’s grocery store ( with a kerosene pump in the front), Bill Mim’s barber shop and Eunice Mim’s drug store.
