Lincoln Mercantile Company, Lincolnton, Lincoln County, Georgia

When the coming of the railroad to Lincolnton in 1917 made cotton transport possible, the Mercantile Company was built as a general store and cotton warehouse. After the boll weevil destroyed the cotton crop in Lincoln County, the facility closed. The building was intermittently used as a factory and eventually torn down.
