Smalley’s Service Station was on the corner of Peachtree and School Streets, Lincolnton, Georgia. As can be seen from the group sitting in chairs in the shade, Smalley’s Store was a favorite “hang out” in the 1940s and 1950s (before TV), when every town had a few places where citizens gathered to swap gossip.
