Due to security concerns, public computers
do not allow standard use of USB flash
drives supporting U3 (encryption)
technology. An error message will occur
telling you the device will not function
properly.
We recognize that Library users must be
able to save their data to take with them
when they leave the Library. There are a few
workarounds that you might try if you
encounter this problem with your U3-enabled
flash drive.
A final note: If you haven't invested in a
flash drive yet, and you plan on using one on a
public computer - either at the library, or
possibly at other public computer locations - we
strongly recommend that you either purchase a
flash drive that does NOT have U3 technology -
or learn how to manage it so that your flash
drive can be used as a regular storage drive.
